Supervisory Environmental Protection Specialist

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located in the Detroit Arsenal Garrison Department of Public Works in Warren, MI. Work occasionally requires mandatory performance of duties after normal duty hours, on weekends, and holidays.

• Reviews new environmental regulations, laws and policies, in order to monitor impact on mission and operations.
• Implements plans, policies, directives and guidance required for the effective execution of the environmental program.
• Ensures implementation of internal and external environmental awareness and ethics among personnel.
• Reviews plans, projects and proposed actions for environmental impacts prior to execution.
• Conducts special studies and projects related to pollution prevention, contamination cleanup, and environmental quality improvements.
