You will serve as a Park Ranger (Interpretation) with the National Park Service. This position is located at the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Park in Hyde Park, New York.

  • As a Park Ranger (Interpretation), you will perform the following: Develops and presents formal and informal interpretive experiences through interpretive media and technology. Presents a series of formal structured programs (e.g., walks, talks, tours, presentations, demonstrations, events, virtual interactions). Connects with audiences through digital content (e.g., the web, social media, mobile technology, live broadcast or distance programming, podcasts, virtual tours). Coordinates special projects (e.g., special events, youth initiatives, teacher workshops, and regional or national committees). Manages interpretive materials such as signs, waysides, publications, exhibits, and audio, video, and other digital content. Compiles evaluation reports. Trains, mentors, coaches, and evaluates a broad range of interpretive programs and products. Monitors and reports the condition of park resources. Ensures compliance with existing safety policies and procedures. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
