This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Fort Stewart Covers 280,000 acres including parts of Liberty, Long, Tattnall, Evans and Bryan counties in southeast Georgia. Fort Stewart is adjacent to Hinesville Georgia and is about 45 miles from Savannah Georgia.
- Serve as Chief of the Fish and Wildlife Branch in the Environmental Division, Directorate of Public Works, with responsibility for conservation of fish and wildlife resources,
- As the installation point of contact on Fish and Wildlife related issues you will represent Fort Stewart at meetings and conferences on Fish and Wildlife issues.
- Plan and conduct biological surveys and management activities required for the protection and enhancement of fish and wildlife populations.
- Manage data files on distribution of Threatened and Endangered Species (TES) on the installation and in the surrounding region.
- Maintain TES data exchange with federal and state agencies, universities, and private organizations as appropriate to support regional goals.
