About the Position: This job announcement is for a Natural Resources Specialist (Ranger), GS-0401-09/11 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District. This position is at the Saylorville Lake Project Office, located in Johnston, Iowa. Selection(s) may be filled at either (GS-09 or GS-11) grade level. If selected at the GS-09, noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level is authorized.
- The below duties are listed at the full performance grade level, GS-11:
- Implement natural resources conservation, recreation, and environmental plans, programs, and procedures to support the effective management and stewardship of natural and recreational resources.
- Prepare and maintain planning documents for assigned programs, including Emergency Action Plans and other program-specific plans, to support effective program management, coordination, and execution.
- Administer and oversee contracts supporting facility operations, ensuring contract requirements are met and services are effectively coordinated and delivered.
- Serve as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) by monitoring contractor performance, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and coordinate with the Contracting Officer to address contract-related issues.
