Outdoor Recreation Aide (Part-Time)

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor/Coordinator, performs various tasks as
necessary to provide recreation services to the St. George Community. Specifically responsible for running recreation programs for ages 5-18+. During programs, the Recreation Aide supports coworkers by providing equipment for programs. Assists the Sports Site Supervisors to provide instruction for the following programs: basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, rugby, fundamentals, and other sporting activities.

Assists the Sports Site Supervisor to the essential needs of the programs.

Provides customer service in person; answering questions and/or referring customers to appropriate staff members.

Responds to public inquiries providing accurate information regarding recreation programs and services.

Organizes, cleans, prepares and maintains recreation facilities and equipment

Works at other City programs and special events as needed.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other related duties as needed

Follows all city policies and procedures

Typical Physical/Mental Demands/Working Conditions
Conditions and temperatures may vary depending on the assignment. Working indoors/outdoors sometimes in extreme hot/cold temperatures. At times moderately heavy physical activity exerting up to 25 pounds. Mental demands of intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior. [1]

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Free access to all 4 city golf courses (Dixie Red Hills, Southgate, St. George Golf Club, and Sunbrook), swimming pools (City Pool and Sand Hollow Aquatic Center) and recreation center is available to all part-time employees.

Note: Golf course privileges are based on availability. Employees can book a tee-time within 24 hours or the same day, but may be turned away if there are no available tee-times. If you happen to be golfing with at least 2 paying customers; tee times can be set with more advance notice, but are still based on availability. Red Hills Golf Course will not be available to schedule tee times in advance --- walk on play based on availability only.

Compensation details: 12.22-12.22 Hourly Wage
