You will serve as a Park Ranger (Interpretation) (Temporary) for the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site. This is a temporary NTE 1 year appointment with the option to extend up to 24 months without further competition. Extension will be subject to funding. Open to the first 50 applicants or until 10/07/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.
- Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Create interpretive programs and experiences or events for multi-generational audiences to connect visitors to their local National Parks. Cultivate partnerships with military bases in the DC Metro area to perform outreach on military bases and to bring military families to National Park Sites for programs. Write communications plans, create marketing materials like fliers and social media posts, create a database of military base newspapers, media stations and base outreach teams where program information can be disseminated. Schedule programs and activities at park sites and coordinate with site managers or partners to address any logistical needs for those programs. Ensure records are kept on programs numbers and statistics.
