You will serve as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 5, New York Field office, Cortland, New York.

  • Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Prepare technical documents such as biological evaluations and biological opinions. Evaluate impacts to fish, wildlife, wetlands, and listed species, applying relevant environmental statutes. Create and validate geospatial datasets; develop structured database schemas and apply quality assurance procedures. Evaluate environmental consequences, support conservation planning, and inform regulatory review. Utilize geospatial applications to support field operations, regulatory workflows, partner collaboration, and public-facing conservation information. Communicate project impacts, ensure regulatory compliance, and support conservation, restoration, and habitat-management initiatives to Internal and External partners.
