You will serve as a Biological Science Technician (Wildlife) in the Division of Integrated Resources Management Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately 11.5 months, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
- Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: The incumbent of this position serves as a wildlife technician in Point Reyes National Seashore's wildlife management program The incumbent provides assistance to the park Wildlife Ecologist in tule elk management and monitoring, monitoring and control of non-native wildlife species, and maintenance and inventory of the program's firearms cache. The incumbent will respond to, assist with, and consult on additional wildlife or other park projects and issues as assigned. Aspects of the position require collaboration with staff from other divisions within the Seashore, park partners, park permitees, and researchers. Summarizing results, writing annual reports, producing outreach material, and giving presentations at the park are integral aspects of the position. Safe, competent, and accurate use of firearms is required.
